- Hands-on Cooking Time
ACI students spend over 80% of their time learning culinary arts, meat fabrication, and baking and pastry in the kitchen instead of a classroom-focused program.
ACI has an outstanding program that truly prepares its students for the realities of the culinary industry!
I have had the pleasure working with The Arizona Culinary Institute for several years. We have hosted many students as they complete their externship. These students are some of the hardest working staff members I employ. 100% of the students that we extended an externship to were hired on as full time employees. It is a pleasure to work with such dedicated students.
AMAZING! Life changing. Would recommend to anyone considering a culinary education.
Best decision I ever made. Amazing instructors, mentors and friends made. Learned more than I could ever imagine. All of the chef instructors impacted my life in ways I will never forget.
I Chose ACI for the small classes, Hands on training and the reputation of the instructors. The Chefs go the extra mile to provide education beyond book experience.
I'm coming from out of town to attend ACI- can you assist me with finding housing?
Yes. We work with a local housing coordinator who focuses on meeting the needs of our students. Our campus is located in a beautiful and residential area in North Scottsdale where there are many housing options to choose from.
I need to work while attending ACI- do you offer employment assistance to students?
Yes. Many of our students work while they are attending school and we view this as a great opportunity for them to gain valuable experience. Our Placement Director works closely with our students to find industry-related jobs that are fulfilling and challenging.
I am interested in getting my career started right away. How long is ACI's program?
Student's can earn their diploma in Culinary Arts, Baking, and Restaurant Management in as little as 8 months. Our program consists of 6 months of classes followed by a 2 month paid internship.
Is ACI accredited?
Yes. Arizona Culinary Institute is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC). The ACCSC is listed by the U.S. Department of Education as a nationally recognized accrediting agency.
Does ACI offer night classes?
Yes! Classes run Monday through Thursday, from 4:00pm to 10:00pm, and are taught year round.
How often do new classes start?
A new Basic Culinary Arts class starts every 6 weeks! Request a catalogue to receive a list of our start dates. We know one of them will be right for you!
What will I wear to school?
You will wear a chef's uniform while on campus. Students are given several sets of uniforms as part of their tuition costs and these include 5 chef's coats, 3 pairs of checkered pants, 2 cloth hats, 5 Aprons, 3 neckerchiefs, and 4 hand towels.
What else, besides uniforms, is included in the tuition costs?
In addition to uniforms, your tuition cost includes all of the tools you will use to become a success in the culinary industry. These tools include a comprehensive Dexter-Russell Connoisseur series knife kit, seven professional textbooks, supplemental student curriculum packets, a backpack and an ACI t-shirt. Of course you will also receive the most valuable tool we have to offer: the attention and instruction of our experienced Chef Instructors.
